WHO ARE WE?
The Main Ingredient is a fresh expression of the Great Lakes Region of the Wesleyan Church.
Pastor Michael Newton of Mosaic Church of Detroit is also a talented chef and entrepreneur. God has given him a vision to be a bridge that connects people to the love of Christ through hospitality, evangelism, discipleship, and community development.
The Main Ingredient reaches out to vulnerable youth, people recovering from addiction, and re-entry into society after prison teaching them culinary skills and entrepreneurship. While working alongside these individuals, Pastor Michael develops relationships that lead to discipleship, community engagement, and development.
The Main Ingredient is a unique way to engage people outside the walls of the church and introduce them to the Jesus, who is the true Main Ingredient.

RADICAL LOVE
Jesus calls us to change the way we see people. When we see them the way he does, radical love takes over. This love transforms lives and builds relationships with people from all levels of society.
EVANGELISM
Good News needs to be shared. We bring the gospel to the unchurched so that all people can experience saving faith in Jesus Christ.
DISCIPLESHIP
Jesus sends us into the world as disciples who make disciples. We live out this Great Commission by teaching people to follow Christ, obey his word, and make more disciples.
ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY
We partner with community leaders and organizations to invest in Detroit. Whether it’s after school activities, financial literacy programs, or Bible studies we want to see our community built up.
EQUIPPING LEADERS
Effective leaders need resources and training. Through our partnership with Mosaic Midtown Church and The Wesleyan Church, we will provide resources that help leaders have maximum impact for God’s Kingdom.
